Hi all
looking for some thoughts on the options we have
son has outgrown his race bike a Specialized Tarmac Comp 105 with Kysrium Equipe wheel set so we're looking to replace before the new race season arrives.
Mostly racing crits (youth racing) and some stage racing

options which are all mostly same cost factoring in reductions and sales looking at are:
1. Straight replacement of the tarmac with another larger Tarmac (105 SL2);
2.Cannondale Super 6 105 (sell tarmac as full bike)
3 Cervelo RS frame set (swap parts from tarmac and sell frame)
4 Cervelo S2 frame set (as above)
5 ????

All get rave reviews though i think the tarmac less so
Any thoughts on the bikes / frames above . We'll be trying all options as local bike shop can build top the Cervelo's to let him try same with the Super 6 he can try at the next rollers session…same geometry as my CAAD10 actually but I'm the size he's growing out of

Cheers,

There is no straight answer.
Some extra things to consider:
- Will the son still grow?
- What does he wants?
- Make sure you can replace what you race (read: changes are there will be crashes...). My bike was the son's spare bike for some years. It got used a lot....

Enjoy the choosing. I am missing it ;-).

Ever considered the Specialized Allez Sprint: stiff (a little les comfy), but aluminum and theoretically a safer choice in case of crashes? A typical crit bike.
Not too expensive either.

Same like your Caad a bit.
